Founder & CEO of Sweet Honey Brazilian Wax
Born and raised in Brazil, Luiza Ribeiro moved to the United States at just 18 years old, determined to build a new life despite being far from her family and not yet speaking English.
Her journey in the beauty industry began in 2014, when she discovered her passion for Brazilian waxing. Inspired by the techniques and beauty culture of her Brazilian roots, Luiza spent years perfecting her craft and developing an approach centered on expertise, comfort, skin care, and confidence.
In 2019, she founded Sweet Honey Brazilian Wax with a vision to bring an authentic Brazilian waxing experience to Charlotte. What began as one small studio has since grown into a multi-location brand built around exceptional service, professionalism, and genuine care.
For Luiza, Sweet Honey represents more than a business, it is a piece of Brazil, a story of perseverance, and her own version of the American Dream.

In 2019, at 25, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, bringing with her more than just dreams: she brought the determination of someone who believes everything is possible with hard work and the right support. Despite having limited financial resources and being far from her family, Luiza decided to open her own business. In 2019, she started with a small room and, without enough funds to purchase all the necessary equipment, she faced many challenges. But through hard work and dedication, Sweet Honey Brazilian Wax was born — a salon created with care, designed to offer more than just services: a welcoming, safe, and transformative experience.
In 2020, Luiza opened the first official location of Sweet Honey, which quickly became a trusted destination for those seeking the Brazilian waxing experience with quality and comfort.
Today, Sweet Honey Brazilian Wax has two locations — one in Matthews, NC and another in South End, Charlotte — and employs a dedicated team. Luiza’s journey is marked by resilience, and her business has grown impressively, establishing itself as a trusted name in the local beauty industry.
With over 12 years of experience and an inspiring journey, Luiza continues to transform the lives of her clients, offering high-quality services at affordable prices and helping everyone feel confident in their own skin.
